Have you ever thought of why your products or services has not recorded mind-blowing returns?
Check your KLT. Yes! The Know, Like and Trust Factor in increasing productivity, customer engagement and referral.
Ask yourself the following questions:
Do the people that “need your products or services” KNOW you? (Note that I said: The people that need your products or services, you are not out for everyone)
Do the people that “need your products or services” LIKE you? (Definitely, everybody can not like you, but how do you make people like you enough to consider giving your business some attention out of everyone in your niche and deciding to use your products or services)
Do the people that “need your products or services” TRUST you? (Hmm, trust is a key factor in business – do what you say you will do, how you said it will be and when you said it will be done.
KNOW FACTOR
How do you make people know you?
“By their deeds, we shall know them”
- Tell people about who you are, what you do, the products and services you offer. You have to be intentional about this, say it subtly in a conversation with friends, colleagues. Introduce yourself stating what you do when you meet someone new.
For instance, my name is Seyi Olaoye, I am a legal practitioner and Coach, I advise on the legal framework for starting businesses and provide business solutions.
- Use social media to promote what you do. Use your facebook, instagram, twitter, linkedin, whatsapp, telegram account to promote what you do. You have to be consistent about this – don’t post, share or circulate random posts like memes, jokes, dissenting political views or controversial religious content except it relates directly to your business or if that is what you want people to know you for. Create a blog/website – if you can and direct people to your blog/website.
Let people be able to predict the kind of information or content they can find on your social media account. Don’t confuse them.
LIKE FACTOR
How will people get to like you?
“I like you is a better compliment”
After people know you, it is important to make them like you.
People will like you when:
- You post or say things that relate to them and their experiences or post contents that catches their attention positively, make them happy and give them valuable information.
- Your post solves some basic problems or challenges they are currently encountering and resolves issues they might be facing.
This is what makes people reach out to you.
TRUST FACTOR
How do you build trust?
“Trust starts with truth and ends with truth, it is the foundation for building lasting relationships”
Trust is built when people see that you deliver when they reach out to you. Remember the “do what, how and when principle – do what you say you will do, how you said it will be done and when you said it will be done.
Have a business culture and be professional to make people trust you, then you can be rest assured that they will always buy your products and use your services. You will be the first person on their mind when other people request a service you provide. They will refer you to more people.
Ask for testimonials on the good job you have done to encourage more people to patronize you.
